On May 9, 1960, the M & C Federal Credit Union was approved by the Bureau of Federal Credit Unions of the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare. Metals & Controls Inc. and M & C Nuclear Inc. were separate corporations that were acquired by merger by Texas Instruments Incorporated of Dallas, Texas, in April, 1959.
The original field of membership included employees of Texas Instruments Inc. and M & C Nuclear Inc. who work in Attleboro, Massachusetts; employees of this Credit Union; members of their immediate families; and organizations of such persons. In February, 1971, the name was changed to TI Federal Credit Union.
During the 1960s, the field of membership was expanded to include other TI operations in Versailles, Kentucky and Central Lake, Michigan. In 1973 the TI operations in Johnson City, Tennessee were added to our field of membership, and in 1990 Hunt Valley, Maryland TI employees also became members. During the 1990s, the Credit Union embarked on a program of adding Select Employee Groups to our field of membership. As of October, 1998 we have added 26 such organizations.
TI Federal Credit Union is a full-service financial institution with four office locations and six ATM/cash dispenser locations. We currently have total assets of $80 million and serve approximately 14,500 members located throughout the United States.
